Jake Long: No. 1 pick in 2008, four straight Pro Bowls in Miami
Jake Long was born May 9, 1985, in Lapeer, Michigan, and played college football at Michigan, where he was a two-time consensus All-American. The Miami Dolphins selected him first overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games at left tackle as a rookie and was named to the Pro Bowl. Madden NFL 09 rated him 85 for 2008.
Long made the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons. He was second-team All-Pro for 2009 and first-team All-Pro for 2010, a year Madden NFL 11 rated him 96. He started all 16 games again in 2011, when Madden NFL 12 rated him 97, the highest figure on his file. Injuries limited him to 12 starts in 2012, his final season in Miami.
He signed with the St. Louis Rams in 2013 and tore his ACL and MCL that December. Madden NFL 25 rated him 88 for 2013. A second knee tear ended his 2014 season after seven starts, and Madden NFL 15 rated him 90 for that year. He appeared in four games for Atlanta in 2015 and four for Minnesota in 2016, where he tore his Achilles tendon. Long announced his retirement on April 24, 2017.
