One 1,400-yard Bears season that outlived his whole career
Robinson was a fourth-round pick out of South Carolina in 1997, buried on the depth chart long enough that he spent 1998 winning NFL Europe MVP and a World Bowl with Rhein Fire. Then 1999 happened. The tall Bears receiver caught 84 passes for 1,400 yards and 9 touchdowns, a franchise receiving-yardage mark that stood until Brandon Marshall broke it in 2012.
He never touched that ceiling again. There were flashes, including a four-touchdown afternoon against Seattle in overtime as a Raven in 2003, and three seasons as Minnesota's leading wideout before the Vikings released him on Christmas Eve of 2006.
Madden pegged him almost entirely to that one year. The 2000 edition, built off the 1999 explosion, shipped him at 93. From there the number only fell, to 85, then 82, bottoming at 76 in the 2003 edition before a modest Vikings-era bump back into the low 80s. He signed a one-day contract to retire as a Bear in 2008.
