Corey Dillon was born on October 24, 1974, in Seattle, Washington, and played college football at Washington. The Cincinnati Bengals drafted him in the second round, 43rd overall, in 1997. On December 4 of his rookie year he ran for 246 yards against the Tennessee Oilers, breaking Jim Brown's NFL rookie single-game record of 237, and he finished the season with 1,129 yards. Madden NFL 99 carried a calculated 87 for his 1998 follow-up of 1,130 yards.
Dillon ran for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons. On October 22, 2000, he gained 278 yards against Denver and broke Walter Payton's single-game record of 275. He finished 2000 with 1,435 yards, and Madden NFL 2001 listed him at 91. He went to the Pro Bowl after the 1999, 2000 and 2001 seasons, and Madden NFL 03 rated him 93 for 2002, when he ran for 1,311 yards.
Cincinnati traded him to New England in April 2004. He ran for 1,635 yards and 12 touchdowns that season, a Patriots single-season rushing record, made a fourth Pro Bowl, and won Super Bowl XXXIX against Philadelphia. Madden NFL 06 again had him at 93 for the 2005 season. Dillon retired in 2007 with 11,241 rushing yards and 82 rushing touchdowns in 150 games.
