Jermane Mayberry came out of Texas A&M-Kingsville, a Division II school, as a consensus small-college All-American, and the Eagles took him in the first round in 1996, 25th overall. It took time, but he eventually settled in at right guard and earned a Pro Bowl nod after the 2002 season, part of the muscle behind Philadelphia's run of playoff teams.

He was still on the line for Super Bowl XXXIX in February 2005, the loss to New England, before signing with New Orleans and finishing his career there. He played 123 games with 104 starts, and off the field he put $100,000 toward eye exams for underprivileged kids through the Eagles Youth Partnership.

His rating arc ran long. A raw 56 back in the 1996 edition grew into a peak 92 in the 2004 game during his best Eagles stretch, holding near 90 in the seasons that followed.
