Dave Szott: Penn State guard, 1997 All-Pro, 171 NFL starts

David Andrew Szott was born on December 12, 1967 in Passaic, New Jersey, and played at Clifton High School before moving on to Penn State. The Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in the seventh round in 1990, 180th overall. He started 11 games as a rookie and made the PFWA All-Rookie Team, and Madden NFL 93 carried a calculated 72 for the 1992 season.

Szott was Kansas City's left guard from 1990 through 2000. Madden NFL 97 listed him at a stored 83 for 1996, and the Associated Press named him first-team All-Pro after the 1997 season, when he started all 16 games. A torn biceps limited him to one game in 1998. Madden NFL 2000 carried a calculated 95 for 1999, the highest figure of his career, and he started 14 games that year.

Injury held him to one game in 2000. He started all 16 games for Washington in 2001, then joined the New York Jets, where Madden NFL 03 listed him at a stored 82 for 2002. Szott retired in February 2004 and stayed with the Jets as an offensive line coach and in player development, becoming team chaplain in 2006. He was never selected to a Pro Bowl and finished with 177 games and 171 starts.
