Sterling Sharpe Madden Career 1992-1995 - Peak 99 OVR

Sterling Sharpe was born on April 6, 1965 in Chicago and raised in Glennville, Georgia. He set receiving records at South Carolina, which retired his No. 2 jersey in 1987, and the Green Bay Packers drafted him seventh overall in 1988. He led the NFL with 90 receptions in 1989 and made the Pro Bowl after that season and again after 1990. Madden NFL 92 carried a calculated 76 overall for his 1991 season.

In the final game of 1992 Sharpe broke Art Monk's single-season receptions record and led the league in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Madden NFL 93 listed a calculated 56 for that year. He caught 112 passes in 1993, the first player with consecutive 100-catch seasons, and on October 24, 1993 he caught four touchdown passes in a game. He was first-team All-Pro in 1992 and 1993, and Madden NFL 94 gave the 1993 season a calculated 99.

His 18 touchdown catches in 1994 were the second-most in league history at the time, and Madden NFL 95 again listed a calculated 99. Late that season doctors found looseness in the top two vertebrae of his neck; he had surgery and never played again. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on February 6, 2025, and finished with 595 receptions for 8,134 yards and 65 touchdowns in 112 games.
