Barry Sanders Madden Career 1992-1999 - Peak 99 OVR

Barry Sanders was born on July 16, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. He won the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma State in 1988, and the Detroit Lions drafted him third overall in 1989. He rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of his ten seasons. Madden NFL 92 put him at a calculated 99 for the 1991 season.

Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 96 for the 1994 season, when he gained 1,883 yards and won the second of his four rushing titles. In 1997 he ran for 2,053 yards, set an NFL record with 14 consecutive 100-yard games and shared the Associated Press Most Valuable Player award with Brett Favre. Madden NFL 98 put him at a calculated 99 for that season.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl in all ten of his seasons and was a first-team All-Pro six times. Madden NFL 99 put him at a calculated 97 for 1998, his last year, when he rushed for 1,491 yards. In July 1999, at 31, he sent a retirement statement by fax to the Wichita Eagle. He played all 153 of his games for Detroit and finished with 15,269 rushing yards and 109 rushing touchdowns. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
