Anthony Pleasant: 58 sacks in 14 seasons, two Patriots rings

Anthony Devon Pleasant was born January 27, 1968 in Century, Florida, and played college football at Tennessee State before the Cleveland Browns drafted him in the third round of the 1990 NFL draft with the 73rd pick. He spent six seasons at right defensive end in Cleveland. Madden NFL 93 listed him at a calculated 46 for the 1992 season, and Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 86 for 1994, when he started 14 games. He co-led the NFL in forced fumbles in 1995.

Pleasant moved with the franchise to Baltimore for 1996, spent 1997 in Atlanta, and then started at right defensive end for the New York Jets in 1998 and 1999. Madden NFL 99 rated him a calculated 85 for the 1998 season, when he started 15 games. He played the 2000 season with San Francisco.

He signed with New England in 2001, moved inside to defensive tackle, started all 16 games and won Super Bowl XXXVI over St. Louis on February 3, 2002. Madden NFL 04 listed him at 80 for the 2003 season, his last, which ended with a second ring in Super Bowl XXXVIII on February 1, 2004. Pleasant appeared in 202 games across 14 seasons with 534 tackles, 58 sacks and two interceptions. He later coached the defensive line for the Kansas City Chiefs and worked as an assistant on the Houston Texans staff.
