Braylon Edwards was born on February 21, 1983 in Detroit and played college football at Michigan, where he won the 2004 Biletnikoff Award and set school career records with 252 receptions, 3,541 yards and 39 touchdowns. Cleveland drafted him third overall in 2005, and he played 10 games as a rookie. Madden NFL 06 rated him 84 for the 2005 season.
In 2007 he caught 80 passes for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns, breaking the Browns' single-season franchise records for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and named second-team All-Pro for that season. Madden NFL 08 rated him 86 for 2007, and Madden NFL 09 rated him 95 for the 2008 season.
Cleveland traded him to the New York Jets four games into the 2009 season, and he started 15 games for them in 2010. Madden NFL 11 rated him 85 for that season. He spent 2011 with San Francisco and split 2012 between the Jets and Seattle. Edwards finished with 359 receptions for 5,522 yards and 40 touchdowns, and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
