J.P. Losman: Bills' 2004 first-rounder, 6,271 career yards
Jonathan Paul Losman was born on March 12, 1981 in Venice, Los Angeles. He enrolled at UCLA, transferred to Tulane when told he would not start, and finished college with 6,754 passing yards and 60 touchdowns for the Green Wave. Buffalo traded back into the first round of the 2004 NFL draft to take him 22nd overall, then watched a teammate collide with him in his first training camp and break his left fibula.
Losman became the starter in 2005 after the Bills released Drew Bledsoe, won his opener 22-7 over Houston and was benched by October; Madden NFL 06 listed him at 79 for that season. Madden NFL 07 carried him at 77 for 2006, the year he started all 16 games and threw for 3,051 yards and 19 touchdowns at a 62.5 completion percentage. He sprained his left knee against New England on September 23, 2007 and lost the job to Trent Edwards a month later, in a season Madden NFL 08 rated him 82.
His contract expired after 2008. He signed with the Las Vegas Locomotives and won the United Football League's first championship game on November 27, 2009, then appeared in one game for Oakland that December and two for Miami in 2011 before retiring. Losman played 45 NFL games with 33 starts and threw for 6,271 yards, 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions.
