The El Paso fifth-rounder who ran Green Bay's offense
Green Bay found him at pick 182 in the fifth round of the 2017 draft, a compact UTEP product from El Paso who most teams treated as a rotation piece. He turned into the engine of the Packers backfield. In Week 5 of 2019 he shredded Dallas for four touchdowns, and that season he led the entire NFL with 16 rushing scores. A Pro Bowler after 2020, he could take a handoff to the house or slip out of the backfield and beat a linebacker downfield, finishing his Green Bay run with more than 4,700 rushing yards, 33 rushing touchdowns, and close to 300 catches.
He celebrated with a 915 gesture for his hometown area code and never lost the chip that came with being overlooked. His Madden number followed the same climb, opening as a 70 in the 2017 edition, reaching 90 in the 2020 game, and topping out at 91 in the 2021 edition before settling into the high 80s and an 85 by the 2025 release after his move to Minnesota.
