Kawann Short was a second-round steal for the Panthers in 2013, the 44th pick out of Purdue, and he hit his stride during Carolina's 15-1 season in 2015. That year he piled up 11 sacks from inside, made his first Pro Bowl and landed on the second-team All-Pro list, giving the Panthers a disruptive force next to their linebackers on the way to Super Bowl 50, where they fell to Denver 24-10. A second Pro Bowl followed after the 2018 season.
In Madden his breakout was unmistakable. He sat at 73 as a 2013 rookie, worked his way into the 80s, and hit his high of 92 in the 2016 edition after that 11-sack campaign. The number then settled into the mid to high 80s across his remaining seasons in Carolina.
