Maurkice Pouncey won the Rimington Trophy at Florida in 2009 and went 18th overall to Pittsburgh in 2010, then anchored the middle of that offensive line for eleven years. His rookie season had a cruel edge. He started every game and made the Pro Bowl, then hurt his ankle in the AFC Championship and had to watch Super Bowl XLV, a loss to Green Bay, from the sideline. He later fought back from a torn ACL and MCL and a broken fibula, and retired in 2021 on the same day as his twin brother Mike, himself a first-round center.

Madden treated him as a cornerstone almost immediately. He was a 76 as a rookie in the 2010 edition, then lived in the high 80s for most of a decade, cresting at 90 in the 2015 edition.
