Jermichael Finley was born on March 26, 1987 in Lufkin, Texas, played high school football at Diboll, and spent two seasons at Texas before entering the 2008 draft, where Green Bay took him in the third round, 91st overall. He appeared in 14 games as a rookie, and Madden NFL 09 listed him at 77 for that 2008 season. In 2009 he started 10 games and caught 55 passes for 676 yards.
A knee injury limited him to five games in 2010, and he was on injured reserve when Green Bay beat Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV; Madden NFL 11 had him at 86 for that season. He played all 16 games in 2011 and caught 55 passes for 767 yards and eight touchdowns, and Madden NFL 12 rated him 90 for that year. He added 61 catches for 667 yards in 2012.
In Week 7 of 2013, against Cleveland, a collision with safety Tashaun Gipson left Finley with a bruised spinal cord and temporary loss of movement. He did not play again, and Madden NFL 25 had rated him 85 for that 2013 season. He announced his retirement in 2015 with 223 receptions for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns in 70 games, and he received his degree from the University of Texas in May 2024.
