Felix Jones was born on May 8, 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and played college football at Arkansas alongside Darren McFadden. He ran for 1,162 yards on 133 carries in 2007 and was a consensus All-American. Dallas drafted him in the first round of 2008, 22nd overall.
Jones returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown against Philadelphia on September 15, 2008, and a torn hamstring in Week 6 ended his rookie season at six games and 266 rushing yards. Madden NFL 09 rated him 80. He averaged 5.9 yards a carry in 2009, a Cowboys single-season record, and ran for 148 yards in a wild-card win over the Eagles. He played all 16 games for the first time in 2010, carrying 185 times for 800 yards, and Madden NFL 11 rated him 83.
An ankle sprain limited him in 2011, and rookie DeMarco Murray took the starting job. Madden NFL 12 rated him 81 that year. Dallas let him leave after 2012. He signed with Philadelphia in May 2013, was traded to Pittsburgh that August, and gained 184 rushing yards in 16 games there, with Madden NFL 25 rating him 76. He finished with 2,912 rushing yards and 1,129 receiving yards. He worked out at the first NFL Veteran Combine in March 2015 and did not sign.
