Michael Robinson arrived in the NFL as a converted quarterback. At Penn State he became the first player in program history to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 500 in the same season, and he was named Big Ten MVP in 2005. The San Francisco 49ers took him in the fourth round, 100th overall, in 2006, then spent years figuring out where to put a 6-foot-1 athlete who could throw, run, and cover kicks.

Seattle solved it. Signed in 2010, Robinson turned into a lead blocker for Marshawn Lynch and made the Pro Bowl in 2011. He was cut in a surprising 2013 preseason move, brought back weeks later, and finished with a Super Bowl XLVIII ring after the 43-8 rout of Denver.

His Madden trajectory reads like the resume of a role player still finding a position. He sat at 74 in the 2006 and 2007 editions, slid to 65 by 2009, and climbed only once Seattle gave him a job, cresting at 89 in the 2012 game before settling to 87 in 2013. He retired straight into the broadcast booth at NFL Network.
