George Kittle was born on October 9, 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin, played tight end at Iowa, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round, 146th overall, in 2017. He caught 43 passes as a rookie, and Madden NFL 18 rated him 72 for that season. In 2018 he gained 1,377 receiving yards, then the most by a tight end in a single season.
First-team All-Pro honors followed the 2019 season, when San Francisco reached Super Bowl LIV, and Madden NFL 20 rated him 90 for that year. A knee injury cut his 2020 season to eight games, and Madden NFL 21 rated him 98 for it. He was a first-team All-Pro again in 2023 and reached Super Bowl LVIII; Madden NFL 24 rated him 96 for that season. Kansas City won both of those games.
He signed a four-year, $76.4 million extension on April 30, 2025, the largest deal for a tight end at the time. He was selected to a seventh Pro Bowl after that season, then tore his Achilles tendon in a wild-card win over Philadelphia on January 11, 2026. Through the 2025 season he had 595 receptions for 8,008 yards and 52 touchdowns.
