The sixth-round center who anchored Houston's zone run game
Chris Myers was a sixth-round afterthought, the 200th pick of the 2005 draft, buried on Denver's bench behind a deep line. Houston pried him loose in 2008 for nothing more than a sixth-round pick, and it turned into one of the best small trades the Texans ever made. Out of Miami, Myers had the light feet and range that Gary Kubiak's outside-zone scheme demanded, and he became the pivot of a run game that put Arian Foster atop the league in rushing in 2010.
He made back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2011 and 2012 and rarely missed a snap, starting for eight straight seasons in Houston before retiring. Quiet, technical, and durable, he did the work coaches prize and fans rarely notice.
His Madden arc rewarded the steady climb. Myers entered at 68 in the 2005 edition as a backup, worked into the high 70s and low 80s as he took over in Houston, and topped out at a matching 93 across the 2012 and 2013 editions, right in the heart of his Pro Bowl run.
