Tyson Thompson Madden Career 2007-2008 - Peak 70 OVR

Tyson Thompson was born on May 21, 1981 and played at Irving High School in Texas, Garden City Community College in Kansas and San Jose State. He went undrafted in 2005 and signed with the Dallas Cowboys after a tryout at the team's Valley Ranch facility, competing for the reserve running back and kickoff return jobs.

He won the return job as a rookie and set Cowboys single-season records with 57 kickoff returns for 1,399 yards, ranking ninth in the NFL at 24.5 yards per return. He also carried 20 times for 75 yards against Philadelphia in Week 5 and was named NFL Rookie of the Week. His 2006 season ended in the seventh game, when he broke his left ankle on a kickoff return against Carolina; Madden NFL 07 rated him 70 for that year.

He was inactive for nine games in 2007, lost the return job to Miles Austin and was not re-signed, and Madden NFL 08 rated him 69 for the season. The UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives drafted him in 2009 and signed him that August, then released him before the season. He signed with the Tri-Cities Fever of the Indoor Football League on January 29, 2010, and finished his NFL career with 2,416 kickoff return yards.
