Scott Wells was the 251st pick of the 2004 draft, a seventh-rounder out of Tennessee and the son of a Churches of Christ minister. He waited his turn in Green Bay, took over the starting center job in 2006, and barely left it, missing a single game across six seasons. On February 6, 2011 he snapped the ball to Aaron Rodgers in the Packers' 31-25 win over Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLV.
His Madden arc rose in step with his standing. Wells opened at 74 in the 2005 edition and worked steadily up through the 80s. The title season earned him a Pro Bowl nod after 2011 and a career-best 89 overall in Madden 2012, right as St. Louis handed him a four-year, $24 million contract to leave Green Bay. He spent three seasons with the Rams before retiring with 135 career starts to his name.
