Rich Seubert Madden Career 2004-2011 - Peak 91 OVR

Rich Seubert should not have had much of a career after October 2003. Playing right guard for the Giants against Philadelphia, he had his right leg landed on by N.D. Kalu, and the tibia, fibula, and ankle all broke on the same play. Five surgeries followed. Most linemen never come back from a break like that. Seubert did, returning in 2005 and reclaiming his spot on the interior.

He reached the NFL the hard way, undrafted out of Western Illinois in 2001, and made himself useful everywhere, at guard, at center, and lined up as a tackle-eligible blocker. The payoff came in Super Bowl XLII, when the Giants stunned the 18-0 Patriots 17-14 and Seubert walked off with a ring. He played ten seasons, all in New York, with 88 career starts before a neck injury ended it.

His Madden number rose and fell with the body. He was a 47 in the 2002 edition as a raw unknown, largely off the radar through the injury years, then rebuilt to an 84 in the 2007 game and a career-best 91 in the 2008 edition, the season after the title, holding in the low 80s the rest of the way.
