Jon Runyan Madden Career 1999-2009 - Peak 93 OVR

Sports Illustrated ranked Jon Runyan the second-dirtiest player in football in 2006, and he wore it as a compliment, saying that was how the game was supposed to be played. At right tackle he was a mauler who almost never came off the field. A fourth-round pick, 109th overall, by the Houston Oilers in 1996 out of Michigan, he followed the franchise to Tennessee and reached Super Bowl XXXIV before signing with Philadelphia in 2000 on what was then the richest contract ever given an offensive lineman, six years and 30 million dollars.

In Philadelphia he became the right tackle of Andy Reid's best teams, making the Pro Bowl after the 2002 season and starting 190 consecutive regular season games plus all 18 playoff games inside that streak. He anchored the line that carried the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX, a loss to New England. After football he won a New Jersey congressional seat in 2010 and served two terms, later becoming the NFL's vice president of rules administration.

Madden pegged him as a top tackle early. He was a 92 in the 2000 edition and a 93 in the 2001 edition during his Eagles prime, then held at 90 through the 2008 edition as the durability kept the number high.
