A shot-putter's power at 315 pounds in Washington
Tre' Johnson threw the shot put and discus in high school and carried that explosion into 315 pounds of guard, and Washington bet on it in the second round of the 1994 draft, 31st overall out of Temple. The power showed. He drove defensive tackles off the ball in the nation's capital for the better part of a decade.
Johnson made his lone Pro Bowl in 1999, spent the 2001 season in Cleveland, and returned to Washington to finish where he started. He was a mauler in the run game more than a technician, and blockers his size were built to move people.
The game rated him accordingly: a 67 in the 1996 edition, then back-to-back 91s in the 2000 and 2001 editions at the height of his powers, before the number slid to the mid-70s as injuries and age closed things out.
