Steve Israel was a second-round cornerback out of Pittsburgh, drafted by the Rams in 1992, who made a ten-year career out of speed and special teams. He spent two seasons in San Francisco, in 1995 and 1996, a depth defensive back and kick-coverage regular on a roster stacked with better-known names in the secondary.

Madden's grades tracked a fast role player, with a peak of 87 late in his career during his time in New England and the usual scattering of noise, including a 30-rated card that fits no version of the actual player. His speed ratings stayed high throughout, in the high 80s and low 90s, because that was the trait that kept him employed: a corner who could run with anyone and cover kicks was worth a roster spot even when he was not starting.

Israel played for the Rams, 49ers, Patriots, Panthers and Saints across a decade, finishing with five interceptions and a long run as a special-teams contributor.
