Michael Sinclair was born on January 31, 1968 in Galveston, Texas, played college football at Eastern New Mexico, and was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 1991 draft, 155th overall. He did not appear in a regular-season game until 1992, the same year he spent a spring with the Sacramento Surge of the World League.
He started all 16 games for the first time in 1996 and made the Pro Bowl, and Madden NFL 97 listed him at 62 for that season. He returned to the Pro Bowl in 1997 and 1998. In 1998 he led the NFL with 16.5 sacks, a Seahawks single-season record, led the league in forced fumbles, and was named second-team All-Pro. Madden NFL 99 put him at a calculated 89 for the 1998 season.
He started all 16 games again in 2000, and Madden NFL 2001 listed him at 92, his highest figure. Madden NFL 02 had him at 87 for 2001, his last season in Seattle. He played four games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002. He later coached defensive lines in NFL Europa, the CFL and for the Chicago Bears. He finished with 73.5 career sacks, 351 tackles and 25 forced fumbles.
