A linebacker who gave everything to the game

Junior Seau played with a ferocity and passion few have matched, the emotional and physical heart of the Chargers defense, a sideline-to-sideline force beloved in San Diego and respected everywhere.

Madden climbed him from a 69 to a 98 by the 2003 edition. Twelve straight Pro Bowls, six first-team All-Pros, a Super Bowl XXIX trip and twenty seasons across three teams later, he was among the best at his position for over a decade. His story carries a profound ending, his death by suicide in 2012 and a posthumous CTE diagnosis that became a landmark in the league's reckoning with head injuries. He went into the Hall of Fame in 2015.
