Marcus Allen RB - Chiefs Madden Career 1992-1998 - Peak 95 OVR

Super Bowl XVIII belonged to Marcus Allen the moment he reversed his field. Trapped behind the line against Washington, he cut back across the grain and outran everyone for 74 yards, the signature play of a 191-yard MVP night in the Raiders' 38-9 rout. That was Allen operating near his ceiling: the 1981 Heisman winner at USC, taken tenth overall in 1982, and the 1985 NFL MVP after leading the league with 1,759 rushing yards.

A cold war with Al Davis buried him on the Raiders bench for years, and Davis publicly called him a cancer to the team. Allen answered by signing with Kansas City, taking Comeback Player of the Year in 1993 and playing five more seasons. He retired with 12,243 rushing yards and a then-record 123 rushing touchdowns, and he remains one of the great goal-line runners the game has produced.

His lone card here is that 1996 edition, an 89 in his Chiefs twilight, still grading out as an elite back deep into his thirties.
