Lomas Brown: 263 Games at Tackle and a Super Bowl XXXVII Ring

Lomas Brown was born on March 30, 1963, in Miami, Florida, and played college football at Florida, where he was a consensus All-American and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 1984. The Detroit Lions took him sixth overall in the 1985 NFL draft. He started all but one of the 164 games he played for Detroit and blocked for Barry Sanders from 1989 through 1995.

Brown was voted to seven consecutive Pro Bowls from 1990 through 1996. Madden NFL 93 put him at a calculated 89 for the 1992 season. Madden NFL 95 raised him to a calculated 94 for 1994, the year Sanders led the NFL in rushing. He guaranteed a Detroit win before the wild-card game at Philadelphia on December 30, 1995, and the Lions lost 58-37; the Associated Press named him first-team All-Pro for that season.

He signed with the Arizona Cardinals for 1996 and started 46 games there across three seasons, a run Madden NFL 99 rated at a calculated 89 for 1998. He spent 1999 with Cleveland and 2000 and 2001 with the New York Giants, where Madden NFL 2001 rated him 82 for the 2000 season. Brown finished with Tampa Bay in 2002 and won Super Bowl XXXVII. He retired after 18 seasons, 263 games and 251 starts, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
