James Lofton Madden Career 1992-1993 - Peak 79 OVR

James Lofton was born on July 5, 1956 in Fort Ord, California. He played college football at Stanford, catching 57 passes for 1,010 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior in 1977, and won the NCAA long jump title in 1978. The Green Bay Packers drafted him sixth overall in 1978.

He was selected to seven Pro Bowls in nine seasons with Green Bay, starting as a rookie, and was a first-team All-Pro in 1981. He led the NFL in yards per reception in 1983 and 1984 and left Green Bay as the franchise's all-time leading receiver with 9,656 yards. The Packers traded him to the Los Angeles Raiders in April 1987, and Buffalo signed him in 1989. He played in three Super Bowls with the Bills.

On October 21, 1991, at 35, he became the oldest player to gain 200 receiving yards in a game, and he made his eighth Pro Bowl that season; Madden NFL 92 listed him at a calculated 69 for the year. Madden NFL 93 put him at a calculated 79 for 1992, his last full season in Buffalo. He split 1993 between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia and retired with 764 receptions for 14,004 yards and 75 touchdowns. Lofton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003.
