The press-man Saint who erased receivers on the island

Marshon Lattimore made his name by taking receivers out of games, and he announced himself immediately. The Saints drafted the Ohio State corner 11th overall in 2017, and he won Defensive Rookie of the Year that fall, the first of four Pro Bowl selections. Physical at the line and quick to the ball, he collected 19 interceptions through 2024.

His long-running feuds with Tampa Bay's Mike Evans became appointment viewing, the two trading shoves and ejections whenever the Saints and Buccaneers met. New Orleans traded him to Washington midway through 2024, and a torn ACL in 2025 led to his release the following spring.

The Madden arc caught his rise. A rookie 76 in the 2017 edition jumped to 90 the moment he hit the field, and after settling in the mid-80s he returned to a career-best 91 in the 2022 edition, then held at 90 through the 2023 and 2024 editions. When healthy, quarterbacks simply looked the other way.
