Kavon Frazier Madden Career 2017-2021 - Peak 72 OVR

Kavon Frazier was a hard-hitting safety out of Central Michigan, a sixth-round pick of Dallas in 2016 who led the Chippewas in tackles as a senior. In the NFL he found the role that fits big-hitting late-round safeties, backup and special teams, the guy who flies down on coverage units and spells the starters when injuries hit.

The Madden card is a modest, honest line. He opened at a 66, peaked at a 72 in Madden NFL 19, and otherwise sat in the high 60s and low 70s, the grade of a reserve defender whose snaps were limited and whose value was mostly on teams. The number never climbed because the defensive role never grew, an injury to his pectoral among the things that kept him from more.

He spent four years in Dallas, then a season in Miami, before retiring in 2022, sixty games behind him. Frazier is the archetype of the hard-hitting depth safety, useful and anonymous, just the player every roster carries and few fans could name. His flat high-60s card is the fair, plain read on a reserve who did the unglamorous work of a special-teamer for six years.
