Missouri Southern had not produced an NFL draft pick since 2007 when the Ravens spent a third-round selection, 94th overall in 2013, on Brandon Williams, a 340-pound fire hydrant who left the Division II school as its all-time sack leader with 27. Baltimore did not draft him to rush the passer. They drafted him to swallow blockers, and for most of a decade he anchored the middle of their run defense as one of the sturdiest nose tackles in the league.

He earned his lone Pro Bowl nod in 2018 and cashed a five-year, $54 million extension in 2017. His career totals, 325 tackles and 34 for loss over ten seasons, undersell a job measured mostly in yards denied. He collected a Super Bowl LVII ring with Kansas City in 2022, then officially retired as a Raven in November 2024.

Madden clocked the climb. A raw rookie at 64 in the 2013 edition, Williams pushed into the mid-80s by 2015 and reached his high of 89 in the 2018 game, the same season Honolulu called. He held at 86 in both 2019 and 2020 before an 85 in the 2021 edition marked the wind-down.
