George Selvie Madden Career 2011-2016 - Peak 77 OVR

George Selvie was a wrecking ball in college at South Florida, a consensus All-American who set conference records for sacks and tackles for loss, and somehow all that production dropped him to the seventh round in 2010. The pro career started as a journeyman's, bouncing among the Rams, Panthers and Jaguars without finding a role.

The Madden card languished through those years, sitting in the 60s, until Dallas gave him a real chance. Under line coach Rod Marinelli, who nicknamed him the Bricklayer for his blue-collar work, Selvie started all sixteen games in 2013 and posted seven sacks, and the grade finally moved, up to a 77 peak in Madden NFL 15. It was the one season the college dominance translated into steady NFL production, the number briefly catching up to the talent.

He faded the next year and finished up with the Giants, the college All-American never quite becoming an NFL star. Selvie is a reminder of how hard the jump can be even for dominant college rushers, a player who got one good year when a coach put him in the right spot.
