Andre Smith was a mauler at Alabama, a unanimous All-American who won the 2008 Outland Trophy as the nation's best interior lineman. The Cincinnati Bengals took him sixth overall in 2009, though his stock wobbled after he showed up to the combine at 332 pounds and ran a 5.28 forty, then held out for 30 days before signing.

Foot fractures wrecked his first two seasons, but he settled in as a powerful right tackle and became a fixture on the Bengals lines that kept reaching the playoffs in his prime. He later passed through Minnesota, Arizona and Baltimore, where his career ended in 2021.

Conditioning and injuries kept him short of stardom, and Madden charted the whole bumpy ride. He came in at 81 in the 2009 edition, dipped to 76 in 2011 amid the foot trouble, then climbed to a career-high 92 in the 2013 game as his right-tackle play crested. From there it was a long slide, down into the mid-60s by his final editions in 2020 and 2021.
