USC's electric Heisman back who waited nearly 20 years to get it back

Reggie Bush was a phenomenon at USC, a two-time consensus All-American who won the 2005 Heisman Trophy before New Orleans drafted him second overall in 2006. He never carried a full workload with the Saints, but he mattered, and he was on the field when they beat Indianapolis in Super Bowl XLIV. His Madden overall was already 87 as a rookie in the 2006 edition and climbed to a peak 89 in Madden 2007 on pure ceiling and hype.

The pro production came in flashes. He topped 1,000 rushing yards for the only time in 2011 with Miami, finishing at 1,086, and had another strong year in Detroit in 2013. His card cooled into the 70s and low 80s as he bounced through Miami, Detroit, San Francisco and Buffalo, retiring in 2017 with 5,490 rushing yards and 3,598 receiving. He gave up the Heisman in 2010 amid NCAA sanctions over improper benefits at USC, and in April 2024 the Heisman Trust returned it to him.
