Oliver Hoyte Madden Career Madden NFL 2008 - Peak 77 OVR

Oliver Hoyte was born on October 5, 1984 and played high school football at Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida. He spent four years at linebacker for NC State, leading the team with 93 tackles as a junior and adding 99 as a senior on a defense that also included Mario Williams and Manny Lawson. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in May 2006.

Hoyte made the roster as a reserve linebacker and special-teams player. Dallas moved him to fullback at the end of October, a position he had not played since high school, and he started five games as a rookie. He started nine more at fullback in 2007 and missed six games with a neck injury. Madden NFL 08 rated him 77 for that 2007 season.

The Cowboys released him on February 28, 2008 to clear a roster spot for Zach Thomas, and Kansas City claimed him off waivers days later. Madden NFL 09 rated him 78 for 2008. The Chiefs used him at middle linebacker in training camp and released him before the season because of the neck injury. He later coached at Chamberlain High School and was linebackers coach at Tiffin University in 2010. He finished with 22 NFL games, 14 starts and three receptions for 12 yards.
