The first Soviet-born player in NFL history
Igor Olshansky was born in the Ukrainian part of the Soviet Union and immigrated to San Francisco as a boy, a big, powerful end out of Oregon who made his living setting the edge and holding up against the run.
Madden climbed him from a 75 to an 86 by the 2009 edition, his last strong San Diego year, then held him in the 80s after a 2009 deal with Dallas. Just 12.5 career sacks, rated for the dirty work he did well rather than the splash he rarely provided, a durable eight-season career with an unusual story.
