Shante Carver Madden Career 1995-1996 - Peak 88 OVR

Shante Carver was born on February 12, 1971 in Stockton, California, and played defensive end at Arizona State, where he was a two-time All-American and set the school career record with 41 sacks. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him 23rd overall in 1994. He appeared in 10 games as a rookie without a start, a season for which Madden NFL 95 put him at a calculated 88.

He played 16 games in 1995 and recorded five tackles in Super Bowl XXX, a 27-17 win over Pittsburgh on January 28, 1996. Madden NFL 96 put him at a calculated 69 for that 1995 season. He started seven of his 10 games in 1996 and all 16 in 1997, his only season as a full-time starter. Dallas released him after that year, and he left the NFL with 52 games, 26 starts, 75 tackles, 11.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Carver signed with the CFL's BC Lions and was released before the 2000 season, then played for the XFL's Memphis Maniax in 2001. He joined the Arena Football League's Dallas Desperados and was named to the AFL All-Rookie team in 2002. Across three AFL seasons through 2004 he recorded 27 tackles, 4.5 sacks and eight passes defended.
