Scott Zolak Madden Career 1994-1999 - Peak 86 OVR

Scott Zolak was born on December 13, 1967, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played college football at Maryland. The New England Patriots drafted him in the fourth round, 84th overall, in 1991. In November 1992 he made his first start against Indianapolis, completing 20 of 29 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-34 win, and he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

New England drafted Drew Bledsoe first overall in 1993, and Zolak spent the next six seasons as the backup. Madden NFL 94 carried a calculated 39 overall for 1993, when he threw two passes. Madden NFL 95 carried a calculated 86 for 1994, a legacy figure produced by the generous throwing attributes of that era rather than by his role; he attempted eight passes all season and worked mainly as the holder on kicks. Madden NFL 96 put him at a calculated 59 for 1995, the year he made one start, on October 1 against Atlanta.

He started twice in December 1998 with Bledsoe hurt, beating San Francisco 24-21 on December 20, and made his final Patriots appearance in a playoff loss at Jacksonville. Miami signed him in October 1999 and he played one game there. Madden NFL 2001 listed him at 66 for 2000, a season he spent out of football. He finished with 124 completions in 248 attempts for 1,314 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 55 games.
