Erik Kramer Madden Career 1993-1999 - Peak 87 OVR

Erik Kramer was born on November 6, 1964, in Encino, California. He played at Los Angeles Pierce College before transferring to North Carolina State, where he started 22 games and was named ACC Player of the Year in 1986. He went undrafted in 1987, appeared in three games for Atlanta as a replacement player during that year's strike, and spent three seasons with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders.

Kramer returned to the NFL with Detroit in 1991 and started eight games after Rodney Peete was hurt. On January 5, 1992, he completed 29 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-6 divisional playoff win over Dallas. Madden NFL 93 listed him at a calculated 46 for the 1992 season, when he made three starts, and Madden NFL 95 had him at a calculated 78 for 1994, his first year in Chicago.

He started all 16 games in 1995 and threw for 3,838 yards and 29 touchdowns, both Bears single-season records at the time; Madden NFL 96 put him at a calculated 69 for that season. A neck injury held him to four games in 1996. Madden NFL 98 had him at a calculated 82 for 1997, when he passed for 3,011 yards. Kramer signed with San Diego in 1999 and retired in midseason after a second neck injury, finishing with 15,337 passing yards, 92 touchdowns, 79 interceptions and a 57.3 completion percentage.
