Eric Allen Madden Career 1992-2002 - Peak 99 OVR

Eric Allen was born on November 22, 1965, in San Diego, California, and attended Point Loma High School before playing college football at Arizona State, where he intercepted 15 passes. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the second round, 30th overall, in the 1988 NFL draft. He started all 16 games as a rookie with five interceptions, then intercepted eight passes in 1989 and was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.

Madden NFL 93 put him at a calculated 99 for the 1992 season, which ended with an 18-yard interception return for a touchdown in the wild-card win at New Orleans on January 3, 1993. In 1993 he returned four interceptions for touchdowns, among them a 94-yard return against the New York Jets on October 3. United Press International named him NFC Defensive Player of the Year, and Madden NFL 94 graded the season at a calculated 92.

Allen signed with New Orleans in 1995, a year Madden NFL 96 rated a calculated 89, and was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 1998, where a torn ACL ended a run of 136 consecutive starts. He intercepted six passes in 2000 and returned three for touchdowns, a season Madden NFL 2001 rated 86. He retired after 2001 with 54 interceptions for 826 yards and eight touchdowns in 217 games, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2025.
