William Fuller: 100.5 sacks, four Pro Bowls, two USFL titles
William Henry Fuller Jr. was born on March 8, 1962 in Norfolk, Virginia, grew up in Chesapeake and graduated from Indian River High School in 1980. He played defensive line at North Carolina and was an All-American in 1982 and 1983. The Los Angeles Rams took him 21st overall in the 1984 NFL supplemental draft of USFL and CFL players, but he signed with the Philadelphia Stars and won two USFL championships before the league folded.
Fuller joined Houston in 1986 after the Rams traded his rights to the Oilers. He recorded 15 sacks in 1991, tied for second in the league, and made his first Pro Bowl; Madden NFL 92 carried a calculated 59 for that season and Madden NFL 93 a calculated 82 for 1992, when he had eight.
He signed a three-year, $8 million contract with Philadelphia after the 1993 season and recorded 9.5 sacks in 1994, including a franchise-record seven straight games with a sack, then 13 in each of 1995 and 1996. He was a Pro Bowl selection in all three Eagles seasons and a second-team Associated Press All-Pro in 1995; Madden NFL 95 carried a calculated 92 for 1994. Fuller moved to San Diego in 1997, recorded three sacks in each of his last two seasons and retired after 1998 with 100.5 career sacks. He was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
