Jessie Tuggle Madden Career 1992-2000 - Peak 95 OVR

Jessie Tuggle went undrafted in 1987 out of tiny Valdosta State and spent the next fourteen seasons proving that draft boards missed. They called him The Hammer for the way he detonated ballcarriers, and he piled up a franchise-record 1,640 tackles that no Falcon has come close to matching.

Tuggle led the NFL in tackles four separate times, one of only two players ever to do it, and made five Pro Bowls between 1992 and 1998. He also had a nose for the end zone, returning five fumbles for touchdowns, a record at the time of his retirement. The high point came after the 1998 season, when Atlanta reached Super Bowl XXXIII and lost to Denver. He remains a fixture in the team's Ring of Honor.

Madden recognized his worth early. He was already a 93 in the 1996 edition, near the summit of the middle linebacker rankings, and even in the 2000 edition, at the tail end of his career, the game still rated him an 88. For an undrafted kid from a Division II program, that is a long time spent at the top of the sport.
