Bryce Young was born on July 25, 2001, in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Pasadena, California. He played at Alabama, won the 2021 Heisman Trophy, and set the school single-game record with 559 passing yards against Arkansas on November 20, 2021. Carolina selected him first overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He threw for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and ten interceptions as a rookie, and Madden NFL 24 listed him at 74.
Carolina benched Young for Andy Dalton after two games in 2024 and returned him to the lineup in Week 8. From that point he threw for 2,104 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. In the season finale he passed for three touchdowns and ran for two in a 44-38 overtime win over Atlanta. Madden NFL 25 had him at 73 for 2024.
Madden NFL 26 rated him 75 for 2025. In a Week 11 overtime win over Atlanta he threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns, passing Cam Newton's 432 for the most passing yards in a game in franchise history. He finished the season with 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He made his playoff debut on January 10, 2026, throwing for 264 yards in a 34-31 wild-card loss to the Rams. Carolina picked up his fifth-year option on April 29, 2026.
