Kenny Pickett was born on June 6, 1998, in Ocean Township, New Jersey, and played college football at Pittsburgh from 2017 to 2021. As a senior he won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and ACC Player of the Year honors and was a first-team All-American. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him 20th overall in 2022.
Pickett debuted in relief against the New York Jets in Week 4 of his rookie year and started 12 games, throwing for 2,404 yards. He threw a 14-yard game-winning touchdown to George Pickens in Week 16 and a 10-yard game-winner to Najee Harris in Week 17, becoming the first rookie quarterback to throw game-winning touchdowns in the final minute in consecutive games. Madden NFL 23 listed him at 68 overall for 2022. He started 12 more games in 2023 for 2,070 yards, a season for which Madden NFL 24 rated him 73 overall.
Pittsburgh traded him to Philadelphia on March 16, 2024, where he backed up Jalen Hurts, started Week 17 against Dallas and finished Super Bowl LIX, a 40-22 win over Kansas City. Madden NFL 25 listed him at 72 overall for that season. He joined the Las Vegas Raiders in August 2025 and made two starts, then signed with the Carolina Panthers on March 11, 2026. Through the 2025 season he had 4,953 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
