Ezekiel Elliott was born on July 22, 1995 in St. Louis, Missouri, played high school football at John Burroughs and won a national title at Ohio State. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him fourth overall in 2016. He led the NFL with 1,631 rushing yards as a rookie and was a first-team All-Pro, though the Associated Press rookie award went to teammate Dak Prescott. Madden NFL 17 rated him 80 for that season.

A six-game suspension under the personal conduct policy limited him to ten games in 2017. He won a second rushing title in 2018 with 1,434 yards and added 77 receptions, and Madden NFL 19 rated him 92 for the year. He held out into September 2019, signed a six-year extension, then ran for 1,357 yards and made his third Pro Bowl. Madden NFL 20 rated him 94 for 2019.

His yards per carry fell to 3.8 in 2022, and Dallas released him in March 2023. He spent 2023 in New England, then returned to Dallas and started two games in 2024, a season for which Madden NFL 25 rated him 79. The Cowboys waived him at his request that December, and the Los Angeles Chargers signed him days later. Through the 2025 season he had 9,130 rushing yards and 74 rushing touchdowns in 135 games.
