Caesar Rayford took about the longest road to the NFL there is. A tall pass rusher out of Washington, he went undrafted in 2008 and spent years grinding through the CFL and the arena leagues, piling up sacks for the Utah Blaze and stops in Canada, just the player who keeps playing because he loves it more than because the NFL is calling.

The NFL finally called briefly, and the Madden card marks it, a single 71 in Madden NFL 15 after Dallas acquired him in 2013. He played seven games before being cut, the one entry on his card the record of a cup of coffee at the highest level. There is no arc to trace, just a lone number for a lone chance, a fair read on a career spent almost entirely in the smaller leagues.

He kept bouncing through arena football afterward and later moved into coaching in that world.
