Victor Cruz was born on November 11, 1986 in Paterson, New Jersey, and played college football at Massachusetts. He signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and appeared in three games as a rookie. Madden NFL 12 listed him at 61 for the 2011 season, the year he moved into the receiving rotation and caught 82 passes for 1,536 yards and nine touchdowns, a Giants single-season record.
On December 24, 2011 he caught a 99-yard touchdown against the New York Jets, tying the NFL record for the longest reception. He was named second-team All-Pro and the Pro Football Writers Association's Most Improved Player for that season, and he caught a touchdown in the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI win over New England. Madden NFL 13 raised him to 90 for 2012, when he made the Pro Bowl with 86 catches for 1,092 yards.
Madden NFL 15 had him at 87 for 2014, a season a torn patellar tendon at Philadelphia ended after six games. He missed all of 2015, then returned for 15 games and 39 receptions in 2016, a season Madden NFL 17 rated 81. He did not play again, and announced his retirement in August 2018 with 303 receptions for 4,549 yards and 25 touchdowns in 70 games.
