Josh Freeman Madden Career 2010-2013 - Peak 87 OVR

Josh Freeman was born January 13, 1988 in Kansas City, Missouri, and played college football at Kansas State, leaving after his junior year with a school-record 8,427 total yards. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him 17th overall in 2009. He started nine games as a rookie, beginning with a 38-28 win over Green Bay on November 8, 2009 that ended an 11-game losing streak. Madden NFL 10 listed him at 73 overall for that season.

Freeman started all 16 games in 2010, the first Buccaneers quarterback to do so since Brad Johnson in 2003, and led the team to a 10-6 record that fell short of the playoffs. On December 26, 2010 he completed 21 of 26 passes for 227 yards and five touchdowns against Seattle, matching a franchise record. Madden NFL 12 rated him 87 overall for the 2011 season, his highest figure, a year in which he threw 22 interceptions and Tampa Bay went 4-12.

He threw 27 touchdown passes in 2012, and Madden NFL 13 listed him at 82 overall for that season. Tampa Bay benched him for rookie Mike Glennon after an 0-3 start in 2013 and released him on October 3. He signed with Minnesota three days later and started once, completing 20 of 53 passes in a 23-7 loss to the Giants on October 21, 2013. Freeman started once more, for Indianapolis on January 3, 2016, and retired in May 2018 with 13,873 passing yards and 81 touchdown passes.
