Branden Albert Madden Career 2009-2017 - Peak 90 OVR

Kansas City spent the 15th pick of the 2008 draft on a Virginia guard and immediately asked him to play left tackle, a spot Branden Albert had never manned. He learned it on the job and held down the Chiefs' blind side for six seasons, protecting a rotating cast of quarterbacks while the franchise rebuilt around the run. He made the Pro Bowl after the 2013 season, then signed with Miami and made it again following 2015.

The ratings track a patient climber. He debuted at an 81 in the 2008 edition as a rookie, worked into the mid- and high-80s, and reached a 90 in the 2015 edition during his time with the Dolphins. A neck injury and diminishing returns dropped him to an 80 and then a 73 across the 2016 and 2017 editions, and a brief, aborted stint in Jacksonville ended it. Albert started 118 of the 120 games he played over nine seasons, a quiet, dependable answer at the hardest position on the line to fill.
